Eligibility and Instructions
- Be a BHA Public Housing or Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) participant.
- Be a graduating high school senior or obtaining GED in same scholastic year as graduating class
- Be a prior year awardee that has met all scholarship requirements including maintaining no less than a 2.5 GPA from previous scholastic year.
- Ability to register and attend classes with a local (within Glynn County) accredited institution of higher education.
Note: Transcripts, recommendation letters, essay and all required documentation must be attached to the application to be considered. Any application lacking the required documentation will not be considered. Do not attempt to deliver documentation under separate cover from the original application.

The following scholarships will be available for the 2012-2013 scholastic year.
- $2500
- $2000
- $1500
- $1000 X 2
- $500 X 4
Application Instructions
- Complete a BHA scholarship form.
- For existing awardees, submit most recent scholastic year transcript along with verification of community service hours.
- High school/GED applicants must submit the following documents attached to the BHA application:
- Most recent high school transcript or copy of GED
- Verification of extra curricular activities, awards and community involvement
- All applicants must submit the following documents attached to the BHA application:
- Three letters of recommendation from non-family members
- Typed essay completed by the applicant
Submission Instructions
- Original completed application must be received and time/date stamped by the above deadline.
- Applications must be hand delivered or mailed to the address on the application. Faxed or emailed submissions will be honored. Late and incomplete applications will not be honored.
Scholarship Requirements
- Scholarship funds must be used to cover unmet student needs directly related to tuition, student fees, books and school supplies. Scholarship funds must be used with a local (with in Glynn County) accredited institute of higher education.
- Student must maintain a GPA of no less that 2.5 for scholastic year. Student must submit verification of GPA each semester.
- Student must update Director of Asset Management of any changes in enrollment status, academic performance and/or any special billing requirements.
- Student must perform no less than 15 hours of community service for each semester of the scholastic year student receives scholarship funds. Student must submit verification of successful completion of community service hours each semester.
