What is the Section 8 Program

The Section 8 program was enacted as part of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 which re codified the U.S. Housing Act of 1937. The Act has been amended from time to time and its requirements as they apply to the Section 8 Tenant-Based Assistance Program. These changes are implemented locally within the Brunswick Housing Authority through the Administration Plan. The Section 8 rental assistance programs are federally funded and administered by the Section 8 staff at the Brunswick Housing Authority. The Administration of the Section 8 program and the functions and responsibilities of the Brunswick Housing Authority shall be in compliance with the Brunswick housing Authority Personnel Policy and the Department of Housing and Urban Development's Section 8 regulations as well as all Federal, State, and local Fair Housing laws and regulations.

Section 8 Waiting List

The Brunswick Housing Authority announces the opening of its Section 8 waiting list on July 3rd, 2014 beginning at 8:00 A.M. Located at 1126 Albany Street, Brunswick, GA 31520. There will be a total of 400 applications handed out with the restriction of 1 application per person. Un rudely behavior will not be tolerated. Security strictly enforced.
